Prism & Needle Tattoo Studio – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I submit my tattoo idea?

You can share your tattoo idea by filling out our [contact form] or messaging us on our [Instagram page].

Q: How much will my tattoo cost? What is your hourly rate?

We typically charge by the project rather than by the hour. Pricing depends on the complexity, size, placement, and whether color is involved. Once you provide details about the design and approximate size, we’ll give you a price estimate. From there, we’ll work together to finalize the design and pricing.

Q: What is your touch-up policy?

We offer free touch-up sessions within six months of your final tattoo appointment.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, e-transfer, debit, and credit cards.

Q: What is a deposit and how is it used?

All appointments require a deposit (usually $50) to secure your booking. The deposit is applied toward your final tattoo price. Please note: all deposits are non-refundable, but they are transferable if you need to reschedule. One reschedule is allowed per deposit. Missing or canceling without proper notice will forfeit your deposit.

Q: What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

Life happens—we get it! If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance. Deposits are non-refundable, but we do allow one-time rescheduling per deposit. Last-minute cancellations or no-shows will result in a lost deposit.

Q: Is your shop licensed?

Yes! We are fully licensed by the City of Calgary and Alberta Health Services (AHS). Copies of our licenses are available upon request.

Q: Do you accept walk-ins?

We’re an appointment-only studio, so we do not accept walk-ins at this time.

Q: Is there parking nearby?

Yes — there is ample parking attached to the building. There’s also a bus stop just across the street if you’re using public transit.

Q: Can I bring a friend or take photos during my session?

Absolutely! Feel free to take photos or videos during your session (and please tag us if you post on social media!). If you'd like to bring a friend, we ask that you limit it to one guest due to space constraints.
